United Devices introduces Virtual Clusters

United Devices has announced general availability of its Virtual Cluster solution, which the company says lets users expand the compute power of their dedicated clusters “by an order of magnitude” without purchasing additional hardware.

The question is how is this going to impact businesses, what’s the performance increase they are going to get out of it. I would assume you would need atleast 3 to 4 virtual nodes to match the performance of one dedicated node. This can be very promising for some companies who have a lot of unused desktop resources.
