This week was wonderful at EMC World 2007 at Orlando, Florida. There were a lot of interesting sessions, but of particular interest was EMC’s Grid solution. EMC acquired business grid technology from Acxiom in January of 2006. This is a unique solution unlike any other enterprise grid offerings. Most of the enterprise offerings so far have been centered around the Globus toolkit. Ian Baird, General Manager for the EMC Grid business has an interesting article describing some the intents of EMC Grid.
The session detailed some aspects of the technology which was centered for information processing and did not get into details of the architecture. So I’ll post more information as its available. But for now this is one of the enterprise grid computing solutions to look out for.
